From: Hanh Vu To: Carl Gibilaro Subject: RE: US-19 and Suncoast 2 Sent: 2-Nov-2003 Mr. Gibilaro, Thank you for your reply. I do have a few additional questions. 1. Who is doing the traffic projections for SC2? 2. Regarding future land use and population increase projections: how does the model take into consideration the "build it and they will come" effect? In other words, how do we know if the Suncoast 2 would not attract additional growth that would not otherwise occur in Citrus County, or steer it here where it would otherwise happen elsewhere instead? How would we know if the model is valid? Does the company who will be doing the projections have a good track record for accuracy in this type of projections, or are we all just looking into a plastic crystal ball? 3. Is the growth in Citrus County projected to be so high that BOTH the SC2 AND the expansion to US19 is necessary? Then what happens at Red Level when all that traffic is dumped there? 4. What are the hurricane evacuation mitigation plans related to SC2 for the people who live East of it? Specifically, what happens during a hurricane when they have to funnel through the limited number of underpasses to escape in-land? Who is doing this study and how will the results be shared with the public? Also will Citrus receive funding assistance in the future when it needs to build east/west throughfares that need to span the Suncoast 2? 5. When is the No-Build option allowed to be discussed? How much time is this discussion allowed and who will make the final decisions on it? Thank you again for your time. Warmest regards,
Hanh Vu
